LHS Trustee - 2025

Paul Krause

Trustee

I’ve grown to love LHS and want to see it continue to be the great place it is for us to live and enjoy.

We love our daily walks though the community with our dog, Shea, greeting many friendly neighbors and seeing how people have kept their homes looking so nice. In the brief time we’ve lived here, my wife of 46 years and I have become involved. I am on the Security and Safety Committee and serve as secretary of the Men’s Club. My wife, Deb, is on the Community Awareness Committee, Buildings and Grounds, in the Chorus and in the Garden Club. I have always enjoyed serving in any way possible.  I was on the board of my condo association in Asbury Park for 16 years serving as President for 7 years. This fall, I will be appointed as an Elder of the Allenwood Church where I have been mentoring our young pastor for the past two years.

Professionally, I was the manager of a Friendly’s in Scotch Plains for 2 years, handling all aspects of the business. I owned a travel franchise with Cruise Planners/American Express for 8 years, booking all types of travel and leading church groups on trips to the Holy Lands. I spent 30 years in ministry, serving 25 of those years as Pastor of a church in Hoboken. I served on various district committees, including as District Chairman for 5 years overseeing 120 churches from New Jersey to Virginia. I also served as President of City Serve, a ministry placing pastoral internships for seminary students in local churches.

I am retired now. My wife, also retired after over 25 years in education working as a teacher and administrator, is now a part time adjunct college professor teaching graduate education courses online to students around the world. We have 3 adult sons: one an elementary school principal, one a high school AP Calculus teacher and one a night auditor for Marriott.

By serving on the Board of Trustees, I can use my life skills and experiences to stay involved and informed, help better our community, listen to our residents and keep people informed through open communication.
